Hello!

My name is Christopher Geisler and I just finished my Freshman year at the University of Oklahoma where I am majoring in Media Journalism. I am excited to endeavor on this adventure to Peru and be fully immersed into a diverse and vibrant culture!

I must admit I was a last minute addition to the team. Dr. Riemer, the Project Executive Director, reached out to me letting me know there was an opening for the program and invited me to consider joining. This was not on my radar at all for the summer. I thought I would be spending it at home in Dallas. After some serious thought and consideration it was too good an opportunity to turn down and I know I would have regretted it. I am happy with my decision and cannot wait to see what the summer has in store for me and my companions.

I am very excited to spend time serving at the schools in Quispicanchi. I love seeing kids laugh and smile. I went on a similar trip to Peru about two years ago with my high school, Jesuit Dallas. It was an amazing experience that I thought would be worth doing again in a more impactful manner. I can’t wait to spend the summer in Peru, learning about the culture and being fully immersed into the environment and building a senes of community with people I will encounter. I hope to leave Peru, not only feeling like I made an impact, but feeling like I have also been changed.

I have a goal of raising $3600 for my time and work efforts in Peru and in support of the Quispicanchi Project. Any donation means a lot as it will provide me with the experience to be able to go on this once in a lifetime adventure. A portion of the funds raised also directly benefit the communities where I will serve.
